Arg, yes, I say again: ARG. The reason? Well, I have just re-calculated my mess-Up Ratio(tm).
NOTE: Mess-Up Ration(tm) is the percentage of erroneous descisions taken in given situations when playing a game of TA. These errors are control errors, tactical errors, strategic errors and any other error you and I can think of.
Back to that re-calculated Mess-Up Ratio(tm). Recently added games in my playing record bump it up to 81.2%. Which, needless to say, is NOT good. All this is purely based on imagination and humorous rantings. But one cant help to come to think about some things... How many actual mistakes does one actually do when playing ? What would actually qualify as a mistake ? Other than the obvious, like self-destructing yourself accidentally... *cough* sorry ikilmyself4lafs, had to mention ya, and the best know blooper ever in the history of TA. We feel for you tho. Really. And it's actually something I think I could do by accident. Kill myself by messing up.
But anyways, i'm off the point here. My point, which I was trying to move towards playing TA perfectly, is that what is an error in TA? GoW, being an ever popular map in TA has undegone some changes with CC out there (those damn infernal Pelicans, arg). GoW used to be all in the skeeter rush (this is 1k/1k, but ofcourse). But all of a sudden, GoW was all Pelican rushing, and people would have pelicans running around the map within 5 minutes, giving a person who goes for the usual sea-first strategy little time to adjust. The "pels" slaugthering any skeeter they might encounter. (Which leads to a question on whether or not the pels are a bug. Aren't skeetes/searchers or NS Defenders supposed to hit them with their missiles? Well, another time for that).
But then, out of nowhere came a new strategy. Going air first (Actually, I believe I arrived at the air-first strat for GoW when trying to apply my c2c strat to GoW, about half a year ago. I'm sure many had done this to death before me, tho'. Ahem, sorry, back to the Boiler... - ed.). This one could beat the pels-first-strat pretty easily, while usually, the sea-first-strat had a better chance versus an air-first-strat. While going way off subject, and touching another big subject in the TA community, my point is: Would it be an error to go pels-first on GoW? The answer will have to be: No. All this concidering that the 2 players playing the various strategies are equally skilled. While the answer to my question was No, this would have to be categorized as a choice. Whether the choice is good or bad is another story. It's paper-rock-sciccors story. NOT including varying skills of players. So it's all choices, strategic or tactical. Some choices work better if the other player has made a certain choice which "fits" the choice you made. And so on, you get my point. Or atleast, I hope you do. This was a rather long and "coherent" Blab here. And I was losely getting into some big aspects which really need more time to blab about.
And back to the subject which has to deal with world domination. (See former BLAB's about ICQ, gaming and other stuff) I just think that ALL people should like, and listen to Metallica and The Prodigy. Whether it's your preference or not, it's quality music. So get SHOPPING if you dont have any of their CD's. NOW, or I will RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA at you.
*RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA'ing insanely as he runs down the main street with underwear on his head and some pencils up his nose*
NOTE: Stole the underwear and pencil thing directly from the extremely humorous british comedy series: Blackadder, which you should all go look up too. RAAAAAAA.
