Blab #30 - BLAH BLAH BLAH. #30 by now - Tuesday, 8th December, 1998

Useless fact of the day:

Kermit the Frog was named after Kermit Scott, a childhood friend of Jim Henson's, who became a Professor of Philosophy at Purdue University.

More Kermit stuff there :)

Ok, I'm making another late Blab(tm) here. And my main motivation this time is a person named "Nozh".

He's posted on the Gnug message board that us Gnugs should pull ourselves together, and show more support and activity. We're all letting the TA community die on ourselves here. And I will be one of the first to admit that I for one am letting it die. But this post did remind me a bit on our responsibility to this game, which we have been in for so long. One could say that we don't really owe a game anything. But as a Gnug, I do feel I owe it to the game and the community to try and keep it active and alive until atleast the Boneyard goes live, or until TA: Kingdoms comes along.

And well, my contribution will first of all consist of this Blab(tm). I will also try and be more active on the various message boards. AND, I'm gonna nag Gnug315 to be more active with his news posts. Hopefully, he will oblige, and see the importance in it all (bah - ed.).

And I will apologize once again for my own inactivity, and right out lazyness. The Blabs aren't coming out as fast as they used to, and I will blame lack of time once again. I know I could re-prioritize to make Blabs more of an urgency. But lately, I haven't felt any urgency at all in making them, simply cause I didn't mind seing the community die, with all it's cheaters. But I just realized that the people who are left are really trying to make something out of it still. And the Gnugs should try more aswell.

Now I can't promise much, but I will be sure to be more frequent with the Blabs. Just you all be sure to post a lot in teh forum, and maybe I will come up with something to Blab about :)

On another note here:
I recently spoke to Aslan. Yes, he closed his page with a bang, and admitted to padding in the middle of it all. Many were disappointed by this fact, and it's somewhat an irony that the Cheater-Buster would cheat himself. When asking about how he cheated, it turns out he was padded UPON by someone else, without actually setting it up. He said that he feels that whooping the same player 5 times, where he knew that the player was less of a player than he (less of a player? how diplomatic - ed.). The player was one of JJ's friends or whatever, but this friend played his best, and didn't deliberately give Aslan wins. Aslan, however, says that he should have known this, and saw it as padding. Even at 2 in the night, overly desperate to make the cut into the finals. Now this might seem as some lame setup by Aslan to somewhat redeem his name, but it's not. I was simply interested in knowing why or how he did it, and basically found out for myself that he was less guitly than I thought he was. It's a matter of viewpoint and technicality as I see it.

I told Aslan that I would put this in my Blab, and this is Aslans reply: (I was allowed to quote him on this)

"heh...

well, thanks, anyway...

BTW, you should read the WP message board... XXX posted an article on there saying how he always knew I was a cheater, and was glad I was gone... except he has repeatedly said he didn't think padding was cheating when Butcher did it...

BTW, in your blab, i would appreciate it if you mention that I still consider myself a cheater.... You can quote me if you like..."

Well, there it is, which ever way you decided to take this, this is how I heard it. And I will leave it at that. He is done with TA, and doesn't think that anyone will remember him. Infact, he expects people to forget about him, and whether you do or not isn't my worry, I just feel he left on a sad note, a WRONG note basically. I just thought I would mention this, so there you have it :)

Enough Blabbing for this round :)

Gnug Out !
