Useless fact of the day:
When angered, the ears of Tazmanian devils turn a pinkish-red.
Swell.
Ok now. It's been ages really, and it's all my fault, and I have little to no excuse for the absence of a new Blab. No excuse, but any reasons? Yes, several. First off.... there REALLY isn't much to Blab about these days for me. Atlast not much to fill a full Blab. We, the Gnugs, are moving seemingly farther and farther away from the TA community in general, and mostly only see the TA'ers that join us in #gnug.
Or am I just saying that, to make you all think that we might not be Gnugging away undercover or something?
Rumours are flowing, at least. :)
In #gnug, which has not gone secret in honor of Zrbt, we're enjoying a time of silence and prosperity. It's not just the secrecy that's to thank for, but also an excellent effort from the Ops. There has been kicking, there has been banning, there's been akick list adding and even a few K-Linings. :) All the hard work has resulted in a decrease of lamerness level in #gnug. All hostile and unwanted elements are swiftly dealt with, and we haven't seen a trace of a pokemon fan for ages. This has all greatly increased the quality of the chat, and we're aiming even higher.
The Gnug page is boiling along quietly. Our counter is obviously not content with its purpose here in life. Either that, or it's drunk. It changes day by day if it wants to count up or down. While this can be amusing, it's also rather annoying, as there's no way to tell how many (few) are actually visiting the site.
And I know there isn't really all too much to come for these days. Gnug315 is still not back on his good computer, where he prefers do make his updates from, and I haven't been all too active either. Then again, neither has the TA scene, but we're moving the site to be more then just another TA page, or the page of some TA "Clan" or Gnuggle.
On the subject of TA... I have been playing a bit lately, but find it totally intolerable to play on Zone these days. I'm constantly reminded of what it was that killed the interest in the first place, whenever it was I first lost interest in playing. The good sides outweigh the bad though, and I always come crawling back, needing a bit of TA. But it usually doesn't last long till I tire of the disconnects, the lag, the other connection/computer related problems. And ofcourse... the lamers... There will always be the lamers. First of all, there's the possibility to cheat out there. That in itsself is bad enough, but it may also throws the rest of the community into the sinister game of suspicion. I know I fall into that trap all too often. And to be honest, it's not becuase of losing the game (if that's even the case). But it's a sub concious catalyst of frustration that triggers a vast ammount of seemingly unproductive emotions. I'm not proud of myself when I feel that my opponent is cheating, but I can't help myself sometimes.
Another source of aggression is play styles, and their "compatibility" with lag. With lag, some things just work better than others. I can emphatize with the frustration, but try to channel the frustration elsewhere, for instance placing some hefty punches at a pillow or something. Just don't let yourself irritate so easily, and instantly take it out on others. Show some Tolerance!!!
Some people seem to constantly want to prove something. That's not all bad, especially when one is trying to prove a good and constructive thing towards oneself, and good friends. But then there's those that are trying to prove all the wrong things to all the wrong people. Get over the selfishness and grow up! What goes around comes around, so only send what you want to get back. And it shouldn't be too hard to figure out that other people want good things sent around, and it's pretty obvious as what good and bad is. If it isn't, then take some time off to do some SERIOUS thinking, and then watch "Se7en" and "Ghandi". Ahem, hehe.
There's quite a few things that come as "baggage" when one is a Gnug. Some bad, some Good. I prefer to just turn my back on the bad, as I don't need to take it. This was all meant to be fun, and ont the strain it can be occasionally.
Ah well, until the next time, this has been your host, Gnug215.
