History
Well... where to start?
Sometime at the end of April 1998, the Gnug Attack was launched on TEN. Answering a distress call from the Momma Gnug (Gnug415), Gnugs 115, 215 and 315 were dispatched and sent to the rescue. After preliminary reconnaissance by the Gnugs' allies the Linglangs, the three Gnugs took the inhabitants on TEN by complete surprise, tearing through all opposition and wreaking havoc wherever they went. Even though the weak humans were helplessly at the mercy of the Gnugs, they managed to disrupt the high speed connection between the TEN service and Gnug Land (about 40 Gnug parsecs away) on several occasions, causing the Gnugs to lose games due to disconnections, ruining their precious winning streaks.
The Gnugs are a hardy species however, and were undaunted by the cheap tactics used by the Earthlings. In one of his moments of madness, Gnug315 aka Evil Gnug overreacted and called for further backup (an action that would later prove totally unnecessary and actually be viewed as tasteless overkill of the Earthlings). Soon after the initial skirmish, the Gnugs were joined by Gnug015 aka Attack or Killer Gnug, and not long after that followed Gnug525 aka Mystery Gnug, although that one deemed it sensible to stay in the background regardless of Gnug315's frantic ranting.
As the skirmishes continued and Gnug315's call for backup rippled into different dimensions, more Gnugs showed up to answer the call. Gnug915, followed almost immediately by Gnug615 and Gnug725, arrived from far off galaxies to help in the battles. Finally, amidst rumors of a major impending battle, Gnug025 arrived Earthside.
Rumors sometimes have a foundation of truth. After a secretive, practice series of war games, the clans of Earth challenged the Gnugs in the first open Clan Battle League in a futile attempt to slow the domination of TEN by the Gnugs. Battles raged from planet to planet as Earth's best valiantly tried to stem the advance of the Gnugs! Finally, after a last ditch attempt by Earth, the Gnugs overthrew the Earthlings. And, as the saying goes, the victors write the histories. New names, like Foozberry Fields, showed up to replace the names of long heralded locations on TEN.
As the situation has continued to develop, many Earthlings have renounced their folly beliefs and embraced Gnugdom. By doing this, these Earthlings gained the respect of the Gnugs, and some have even been promoted to the coveted status of GnugFriend.
The Gnugs made an unprecedented impact on the TEN community. Besides the GnugFriends, sightings of Gnug Haters were manyfold, the most serious taking on the form of GnugKillers and GnugSlayers. There is no war without love, however, and Gnugettes have also made appearances and played their role in completing the World Of Gnugdom. And other Gnugs, like Gnug825, Gnug125, Gnug225 and Gnug325, on hearing of the beauty of Earth, have continued to arrive over the years, enjoying the Earth and such vacation spots as Antarctica.
